cassie This is Cassie, SassyCassie86, and she wants to be Paris Hilton’s new best friend.

Luckily for her, it seems that MTV is running a competition where the person with the most votes from their website will see that special dream come true. And they’ll make some telly about it, which would be very good telly if our Cassie won, I’m sure you agree.

B3ta have got a sort of campaign going, and they got some clout on the interwebs, so join in:

satnav I had a sat nav disaster of my own yesterday. The little blighter has sent me down narrow roads before, but never onto uphill 6 foot wide mud tracks with trees on them; which is what happened.

Stupidly, as I was only 0.5 miles from my destination, I decided to persevere. I ignored a dead-end sign, I ignored a hand-written sign which said “abandon hope all ye who enter here” or something similar, I even got out of the car and moved the tree out of the way. But another couple of hundred yards on I was thwarted by a man-made bollard constructed of boulders and scaffolding poles. I had to back up and go the long way round (0.2 miles longer).

So today I’ve been looking for other unfortunate stories, and here’s what I’ve found:

The UK’s Top Sat Nav Disasters

and this:

Top Ten Tips for Sat Nav Safety

vhemt Yep, this is the website for The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement, Or VHEMT for short, or Vehement, for slighty less short.

Why, you may wonder, is anyone advocating the extinction of the human race? Because its good for planet Earth of course! As they say in their introduction: ” Phasing out the human race by voluntarily ceasing to breed will allow Earth’s biosphere to return to good health”

They claim to have millions of supporters, but as they are a movement not an organisation they can’t back this up with any names or numbers, although they do link to a supporters site with over 1400 subscribers!

Incidentally, they do also link to a cool short video which shows what would happen to New York if all the people vanished; Sort of a poor man’s “I am Legend”, no sign of Will Smith though.

Link to the video is Here.

viagra_spam_mousse Trifter.com has compiled a list of viagra-inspired foods from around the world. They come in three categories: Foods that look like viagra (like the viagra spam mousse shown above); Foods that are the same colour as viagra; and foods that claim to have similar medicinal properties to viagra. Its well worth a look.

Here’s a website which lists hundreds, if not thousands, of funny porn film titles based on real film titles. A few quality examples are:

"A Beautiful Behind"
"Womb Raider"
"Schindler’s Fist"
"Shaving Ryan’s Privates"
"Glad he ate her"
"Driving Into Miss Daisy"

I wonder if they’re all real pornos, or if some of them are just made up?

Look at these soldiers who love my website! They don’t really of course - I made this wacky picture at

www.funonit.com

You choose your text and then choose which photo you want it on, its very quick and easy.

I found the site through clazh.com, where they list another 15 crazy and cool photo and video websites - Have a look here: http://www.clazh.com/15-crazy-and-cool-photo-and-video-websites/. That should keep you entertained for a while!

“Who needs a movie? Getting Married? Got a web site? Fund raising? Commercials? Selling something? Movies can make your life go better!!”

So goes the introduction  to this video on youtube.

But what is this? Is it a spoof? A Hoax? Unintentionally funny? Whatever it is, Fred & Sharon Spencer look like they’re doing ok out of it. You can watch 2 videos for free on their website, after that you have to pay a dollar. The video above has had almost half a million its so far (update: 640,000 hits), and its so bad that it just cries out “hoax” to me, but their Youtube channel doesn’t link to their website, which is a bit strange if they’re trying to make money.

Make up your own mind, their website is here:

http://www.fredandsharonsmovies.com/

Update: the website was down for a while, it appears to have crashed under insane bandwidth pressure, but seems to back up again now!

and the Youtube channel is here:

And if they’re real, I hope they make tons of money!

My brother told me about this down the pub one night: If you accidentally lock your keys in your car, you can ring someone with your spare key and unlock the car through the mobile phone. Needless to say, nobody believed him; but he swore that it had actually worked for him.

Me and Mrs KFK decided to try it out yesterday in a big car park: She wandered off until the key fob was out of range and wouldn’t open the car any more, then she phoned me. I held my phone by the car door, and she held the key fob by her phone. She pressed the button, and viola: car unlocked!

So is the unlocking signal somehow being sent down the phone? Or is the phone somehow amplifying the key fob’s signal? I don’t know yet, as we haven’t had time to try it over a larger distance, but this is what Snopes has to say:

Sorry, I couldn’t find any curtain fetish websites; Instead here’s a website with funny insurance claim statements.

And here’s some examples:

“I was on my way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident.”

“I thought my window was down, but I found it was up when I put my head through it.”

“I saw a slow moving, sad faced old gentleman as he bounced off the roof of my car.”

“I told the police that I was not injured, but on removing my hat found that I had a fractured skull.”

Very good. You’ll find them here:

noreligion I do like a good conspiracy story, I think they communicate with a deep questioning part of our humanity, especially when it comes to politicians! You only need look at the sales of “The Da Vinci Code” to see how popular conspiracy stories are.

I’ve recently been looking at a lot of conspiracy websites, especially about 9/11 (that seems to be the most popular subject) and I have a great exercise for you:

First, watch this film:

It’s called “Loose Change 2nd Edition” and its a really rather well-made film which outlines some of the most popular conspiracy theories concerning the events of 9/11 in the USA. The Film-makers say

This film shows direct
connection between the attacks of September 11, 2001 and the United States government.
Evidence is derived from news footage, scientific fact, and most important, Americans
who suffered through that tragic day.”

After you’re done with that, have a look at this: http://www.loosechangeguide.com/LooseChangeGuide.html

Which is a review of the film by Mark Roberts, debunking, well, pretty much everything in the film. Its well worth a read, for sarcasm value alone.

Mark says:

“I put this document together for several reasons:
1. To promote understanding of the facts about the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and to discourage relying on rumor and conjecture when searching for the “truth.”
2. Because I believe that “Loose Change” is an influential introduction for many people to 9/11 conspiracy issues.
3. To encourage respect for the victims, living and dead, of the 9/11 attacks.”

This whole exercise will probably take around 3-4 hours, so set yourself aside some time and have a ‘conspiracy night in’.

If you haven’t got time right now, save this page into your favourites and come back to it.

And normal madcrazydaft service will be resumed tomorrow, when I’ll bring you a story about, oh I don’t know, curtain fetishists?!
